CEO - Darrell Hawkins
Darrell has spent the last 10 years working on a variety of natural gas technologies and projects in numerous countries with many varied stakeholders. Having experience with Upstream producers, midstream transporters, downstream consumers, consultants, regulators, technology start-ups, investment bankers, Venture Capital and Angel Investor firms. He has successfully raised capital for two different start-up companies with gas technology focus. Previously, he was a naval officer and a naval architect with 20 years experience in a diverse range of international projects throughout development, execution and acceptance phases.
CFO - Geoff Carlson
Geoff has over 36 years of business experience, with the last 8 years focused in the energy business, where he has chaired and managed companies in project design and engineering of coal-to-liquids and gas-to-liquids plants, marketing of deep-water crude drilling and storage vessels (FPSO/drilling combined), development and marketing of anti-corrosion materials for the automotive and aeronautical industries, and advisory work on stranded O&G assets and resources. In the 1980s he held finance and marketing positions at W.R. Grace's European HQ in Switzerland and later as Senior Corporate controller at what is today the Swatch Group, where he also supervised many of the company's component manufacturing plants. He then held successive positions to open up and run Central & Eastern Europe for two U.S.-based multinationals, and built or re-built several factories and founded and built fully-fledged operating units in 10 countries. In 1999 he left corporate life in order to start up his own companies, and began by winning contracts to engineer and build a major water pipeline in Jordan and a CHP power plant in Romania. During the last decade, and in addition to his other company responsibilities, he has been involved in development projects for innovative solar power plants and a new, low-cost and innovative technology for water desalination
Project Manager - Vanni Tomaselli
Vanni Tomaselli has strong background in development, characterization and regulatory approval of structural composite materials, gained through research activities of marine and aerospace applications and prototype development of composite pressure tanks for marine Compressed Natural Gas (“CNG”) transportation in industries in Europe and North America. Managed technology development of new CNG composite solutions, ranging from design compliance, to prototyping & manufacturing, definition of qualification test programs, materials supply analyses, securing relevant intellectual property and development of production scenarios.
More recently Vanni has covered advisory roles for composite materials research and development in the upstream Oil & Gas industry as well as project management and procurement consultancy for midstream projects.
Technology Manager - Brendan Harvey
Brendan Harvey is currently pursuing his doctorate in electrical engineering through the Memorial University of Newfoundland. Having two degrees in mechanical engineering, his main research focus has been in alternative natural gas storage and utilization technologies. Past employment activities have also revolved around various sub components of the oil and gas industry such as oil sands production, sub sea oil and gas production and transportation, and energy transport logistics. Brendan is also a sessional professor at the Memorial University of Newfoundland in the area of fluid mechanics. Once his Ph.D. is complete, Brendan will be joining Pangaea Energy as Technology Manager.
